Do you offer online or in person appointments?

I am currently  conducting sessions by video and phone.  In person sessions are available on a case-by-case basis. Please advise if you would like this option.

Can I see you every other week or once a month?

In my experience, meeting less then once a week at the start of therapy is often counterproductive. If we agree to work together, I’ll commit to doing my best work with you and that requires that we both commit to weekly therapy that will allow us to build trust, familiarity and continuity that creates space for lasting change.

How long does it take to feel better?
While therapy is a very individualized process,  many people  experience a new sense of hope and relief  within a few sessions, as they get a glimpse of what could be different.   Often, the experience of knowing you have a skilled, and  compassionate ally, helping you hold your struggles, can begin to subtly shift what feels most difficult in your internal and external worlds.   Within the first few months you’ll likely experience some important shifts in the ways you’re showing up at work, in your significant relationships, and with yourself.  Continued growth includes practicing skills and processes you continue to learn in therapy.  Therapy is an investment in your own healing and growth.
How can I know if we are a good match?

It’s important to feel comfortable and safe with your therapist. One of the best ways to judge if we are a good match it a good match is to complete the initial consultation.  If you have questions related to the match, feel free to discuss your concerns and ask whatever questions that will provide further illumination. Please feel free to request an appointment online or call me at 510-658-1966.
